Hi, I’m Nick. As a teacher educator I spend a great deal of my time thinking about and experimenting with how to best design and deliver professional development in order to help teachers get better.
I’ve been a science teacher, instructional coach, windsurfing instructor and Master’s tutor (though not necessarily in that order).
I currently work for Ambition Institute, where I split my time between working on our Master’s programme, working on learning design and strategy, and leading the Teacher Education Fellows (the coolest and/or nerdiest fellowship in the world, IMO).
I also work with school leaders in the UK and internationally to help them deliver the best teacher development possible: developing and implementing coaching systems, honing approaches to curriculum and assessment, and ultimately aiming to improve education for the young people we serve. This blog is a way for me to share some of the things that I’ve learnt along the way, alongside unruly questions I’m still grappling with.
